The Austringer is a student-run literary and arts magazine at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, Maryland. Our title, austringer, refers to one who partakes in falconry: the art of hunting or taming falcons, our school mascot. As such, the mission of the magazine here at Good Counsel seeks to capture the artistic spirit of the student body in the form of art, poetry, prose, and non-fiction essays. The Austringer meets weekly as a club and reviews submissions for publication anonymously. The finished product reflects our combined appreciation for the arts, and our hopes that the larger community may share in it.
